Computation in façade designs
In 2018, Karle Infra adopted computational design, also known as Parametricism, for the facade design of its newest office building Hub 4. Parametricism uses algorithms to generate complex, adaptive building forms. It emphasizes the use of parameters, or variables, to drive the design process, enabling architects and engineers to create unique forms that respond to specific site conditions and programmatic requirements. The focus on parametric design allows for greater efficiency, speed, and accuracy in the design process.

Parametricism can help address issues of sustainability in the real estate industry by allowing architects and engineers to optimize the use of resources and minimize waste in the design and construction process.
By modelling and simulating building designs in a digital environment, it becomes easier to analyse and optimize various elements of the design, such as energy consumption, water usage, and material consumption, and make changes as needed.
A parametric approach to design also allows for the inclusion of other sustainable technologies and systems, such as efficient HVAC systems, into the calculations of a ‘Building Information Model’ during the design process. This leads to buildings that are not only aesthetically appealing, but also energy-efficient and environmentally responsible.
